Corsican Cattle (2022)

Corsica, from Napoléon I to Emmanuel Macron, has never walked out from the mist of identity. The intermittent movements of independence have more or less shaped the Corsican’s self-recognition. Amongst those debates, we see too many words, opinions, expressions and gestures from a highly anthropocentric stance. The image not only illustrates the stares of two Corsican cattle in a space of depth, but also tries to dig deeper into a more natural perspective, to explore the primitive impulse of beings in front of the ‘invaders’ or simply those who happened to be on their territory. Something is still ongoing from the Middle East to Ukraine. Outside the field of human beings, we shall gain intimations from nature.
